    Transport

Transport makes up around 14% of global emissions, from cars, lorries, ships and air transport - EPA Emissions data. This a sector completely separate from electricity & heat generation, for homes, businesses and industries, which creates 25% of our global emissions.

There are many great innovations in the vehicle sector with new electric cars, buses and even heavy goods vehicles. However we are only a small percentage in to creating electricity from clean energy, for the housing and business sector, the more we move our transport industry in to electric options we will require even more electricity to power these. If this additional electricity comes from fossil fuels then we will still be producing the same emissions.

The Committee on Climate Change in the UK emphasizes the need to switch to electric vehicles to cut down on emissions.

The demand for electricity is going to increase over the coming years, so we must ensure our clean energy production expands in line with this demand. Investing in outdated energy production methods or not truly clean energy production will not solve our long term pollution and climate change problems.
