Concentrated Solar Power is the method of collecting heat energy from the sun by using mirrors to focus the suns light on to a tube, or tower, to superheat an element either liquid or molten salt to 400-500°C. You can watch this simple 2 minute video of how CSP plants work and highlights the most common CSP plants design that use parabolic trough reflectors
Natural sunlight hits the multiple rows of trough mirrors that reflect the heat on to a tube filled with a superheating liquid. This liquid then boils water that turns a steam generator and creates electricity.
All thermal energy plants (coal, oil, and gas) use the same boiling water into steam method to generate electricity. The only difference is how the heat is created to produce that electricity. As we know burning coal, oil or gas pollutes our air and damages our environment. The suns heat is just as effective. Producing huge amounts of energy and electricity, without producing any bad emissions...and is limitless.
Using CSP technology to power our world is a positive step towards a greener future.
